The Crizal® and TD-2™ difference:

Thin Lenses are Getting Even Thinner
With new advancements in eyeglass lens technology, thin and lightweight lenses are becoming even thinner. New “ultra” or “super” high index plastic lenses are offering relief from heavy lenses for patients in high-power prescriptions who otherwise would have to put up with heavy, thick eyeglass lenses.
All eyeglass lenses “bend” light by repositioning light entering the eye to the proper place for good vision to occur. High index and polycarbonate materials bend more light, so less lens is needed to correct your vision. These lightweight materials are becoming the standard for eyeglass lenses today because they are more comfortable and better looking.
Recently, even better plastics are being introduced into the U.S. optical market. These “super” high index lenses can bend more light with even less material, making them thinner and causing less magnification or minimizing of your eyes.
Care and Handling
- Never wipe the lenses while they are dry. Particles and dirt on the lenses can damage the surface. Rinse with tap water, apply a cleaner and clean with fingers. Use a soft cotton or silk cloth to dry the lenses.
- Always clean your frames and lenses with a cleaner safe for eyeglasses. Some household cleaners contain solvents, which can damage your lenses or frames. Mild hand soap and water works well, too.
- Never leave your eyeglasses near a source of heat or on the dash of a car. Excessive heat may damage or warp plastic frames and some types of lenses.
- Clean anti-reflective lenses with a cleaner made especially for those lenses or with mild soft soap and water.
- Periodically, your new glasses may require a fine-tuning adjustment to stay comfortable and functional. Over time, screws will loosen, too. Come in any time for a free adjustment.
- Keep your eyeglasses in a clean, protective case when not wearing them.
- Do not try repairs at home. Glues and putties will void the warranty.
